Shenzhen Restaurants - Foods

Shenzhen Restaurants

Shang Palace Shangri-La Hotel Shenzhen opp Railway Station
Shang Palace Shangri-La Hotel Shenzhen opp Railway Station, 1002 Jianshe Road, Shenzhen, China (Luohu Port)

Good Dim Sum
The quality of Chinese Dim Sum here is very good. Worth a visit if you like Chinese Dim Sum. The seafood congee is excellence, there are crab and prawn in the congee.
Some of their signature dishes are must tries - roast pork that are heated at the table with rose wine, and Beijing style roast duck (the skin is wrapped in thin pancakes, the meat can be cooked separately into another dish).

Modern Toilet Restaurant
Foods NOT great but restaurant decoration  is amusing
Modern Toilet Restaurant
2nd Floor, JieFanlu 1004# Dongmen BuxingJie, Shenzhen, China
The theme is amusing. Where else can you sit on a toilet to eat and have your food served to you in a urinal shaped dish? Even the iced teas came in a urinal shaped holder. The staff was friendly. The food was only average. However, my banana chocolate milkshake was the BEST milkshake   It was super chocolate-y and yet perfectly blended with the banana. :) I had pineapple and shrimp fried rice, served in a hollowed out pineapple half, for only 35RMB. The milkshake was only 25RMB. That is $10 US dollars. For a themed restaurant, that's fair.

Yantian Seafood Street

Le Yuan Lu Seafood Street Dongmen
Le Yuan Lu (Street), also known as Seafood Street as the whole street is lined with seafood restaurants.

This street is a sight to be marveled at. Le Yuan Lu is one of the few places you can pop into at 4am after a hard night on the town and have some freshly cook lobster of your choice.

Le Yuan Lu is more alive between the hours of Midnight and 6am than the usual dinner hour you would expect of a street packed with restaurants.

When you arrive here, you will be flocked by hawkers trying to bring you to their restaurants. Slowly take your time to look over all the fresh seafood in tanks by the street before choosing where to dine

Korea Seoul - shopping and eating

Gangnam Underground Shopping area - Visit this place first before other shopping - Cheap and Goods where the locals shop
Yeoksam 1-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea

“This is where the locals shop !”
Reviewed July 10, 2013 Believe me, this is a shopping paradise for clothes esp for the young-at-heart. This shopping area is just steps away from the exit of the gangnam subway station. Just take the subway. It is super easy. just avoid coming around 5pm coz the trains will be packed like sardines.

If you are coming from the middle of town, say myeongdong, you will see Gangnam station is quite a distance, about 14 stops or so, but your trip will be worthwhile. The exact same blouse I got here, at Gangnam was KW 18000 but cost 35000 in Myeongdong. Don't shop at Myeongdong -shop here! Only the tourists shop at Myeongdong. Forget about being a cheapskate - why pay more when you can stretch your dollar?

I bought so many blouses at prices I couldn't imagine, I sang in my heart. The best thing is, the clothes sold here are usually made in Korea - check the tab. If u r not in the know, korean-made material like cotton is usually very durable. Here u can get T shirts for what ? KW5000! Just close one eye n buy. You can't go wrong when u see locals shopping here.

Tip 1 : go to the shops that are crowded. Their prices r usually reasonable.
Tip 2 : if u buy 3 or more shirts, ask for more discounts. If they can give u, they will. Don't be shy.
Tip 3 : recharge your batteries at the waffle cum yoghurt stall - yum ! Then hit the shops again.

“Heaven for female!”
Reviewed May 3, 2013 I'm not sure if this's the same underground shopping that I went or not. I went to one at Gangnam area and it's named Express Bus Terminal underground shopping. If you're looking for bargain clothes, this is the place for you! Prices ranged from 5000w and above but normally from 5000w to 20000w. Crazily cheap! The underground shoppping is really long. Prepare about 2-3 hours to shop if you are really into buying clothes. I spent more than 4 hours there while my friend even went back again the next day. So much cheaper than Dongdaemun. While Shinsegae Department store is just next door. Hmmm not next door, they're both connected. Go to Shinsegae food court---it's another HEAVEN! If you're more into branded goods, then you should go to Shinsegae Dept store. If you're after both branded & cheap goods, spare a whole day here. Trust me, it takes a whole day to shop here.

How to Get There:  Below bus terminal
Take subway line 3, 7 or 9 to the Express Bus Terminal, exit 8.

Myeong-dong - Seoul Korea most popular shopping street

Myeong-dong is Seoul's busiest area teeming with tens of thousands of people at any given time. There are hundreds of shops here and you can find Korean made goods and etc.

Every Korean cosmetic brand has a branch in Myeong-dong. The market is home to roughly a thousand cosmetic shops and hundreds of skin-care stores, hence competition is really fierce. The sales assistant will often entice walk in customers with free samples. You can still take it even without making any purchases. And if you really do buy something, they will stuff you with even more free samples! We often end up with plenty of free samples after spending an hour or two at Myeongdong.
How to Get There

Exit #6 or 7, Myeong-dong Station (Subway Line 4)

Midnight Shopping @ Dongdaemun
opening hours: from 5am to next morning 5am best to go after 10pm

Dongdaemun gets even busier after midnight. Retailers from across the country gather in the Wholesale Clothing Town to do business alongside the droves of older international travelers that have come to sightsee. Across from the shopping malls, the Wholesale Clothing Town is like a huge warehouse that sells virtually every type of clothing made in Korea. Retailers waiting in front of wholesale shops such as Nuzzon, Yours, and Designer Club with large bags are a common scene at night in Dongdaemun.

The Yellow Tents of the Open Market
Early in the evening, while the area’s giant shopping malls are crowded with customers, the Open Market near Exit #4 of Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (Subway Line 2, 4 & 5) waits quietly until 10:00 pm before finally revealing its glory in a glitter of sparkling lights. The Open Market boasts endless rows of yellow tents selling clothes, leather goods, glasses, shoes, bags, and other accessories at majorly discounted prices. Although it lost some of its commercial luster after the nearby shopping malls popped up, it still draws people looking for that extra something special in Dongdaemun

Getting there:  shops opened till early morning
exit Dongdaemun Station (Subway Line 1 & 4) or Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (Subway Line 2, 4 & 5), they’ll find themselves a party to one of Seoul’s busiest street scenes. The area around Dongdaemun is more than just a great shopping venue; it’s the perfect place to experience some of the fun that the city has to offer!

Coex Mall (please check with hotel it is still under renovation)
Coex Mall
159 Samsung-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul 135-731, South Korea

The COEX is an underground shopping mall that boasts many brand-name stores, boutiques and gourmet eateries. The Mall is conveniently connected to two Intercontinental hotels, and the famous Hyundai Department Store. it has a multi-cinema complex and an aquarium.

Getting There
The COEX is located south of the Hangang River. The easiest way to get there is by taking subway Line 2 all the way to Samseong Station.

Insa-dong - traditional korea art and antiques

Insa-dong is the place to go to see and feel traditional Korea. The streets are filled with various art works, Korean antiques, traditional teahouses and restaurants where you can experience the unique culture of Korea. There are also many souvenir shops that have traditional gifts.

Getting there:
* Jonggak Station (Seoul Subway Line 1), Anguk Station (Seoul Subway Line 3), Jongno 3 (sam)-ga Station (Seoul Subway Line 1 , 3 or 5)

Korea Ice Cream Bar

when in korea DO NOT forget to try their ice-cream.

Korean Ice cream bars are beyond unique. They come in all sorts of flavors and taste. most are NOT AVAILABLE outside the countries.  my favourite the fish-shaped biscuit with red bean inside.

Asiatique Riverfront Bangkok, Thailand is one of the new shopping and lifestyle places located along the Chow Praya River here. Styled in multiple classic huge old warehouses. This shopping haven was also recently opened in early 2012 catering to both locals and foreigners

Shopping here is something definitely worthwhile as there are about 1500 shops for you to go through which is no easy task if you ask me. Split into nine warehouses, each warehouse easily has about 150 shops with multiple alleys and lanes. Shops here sell all sorts of items like handicraft, decorative items, clothes, souvenirs, shoes, accessories to some of the oddest items. One of the districts here also offers over 500 fashion boutiques for the trendy.

How to get there: Asiatique The Riverfront - new shopping mall

There are two main ways to get here. One would be the free ferry service offered by Asiatique along the Chao Praya River while the other would be via taxi or tuk tuk. Locals and tour buses seem to prefer the road while many others choose the scenic route as to challenging the famous Bangkok traffic which is the easiest way.
•Take the BTS Sky Train to Saphan Train Station
•Walk down to Sathorm Pier and look for the Asiatique Ferry Jetty
•Board the Free ferry service to Asiatique.
•Ferry Service is Free both ways

Best Gifts to buy in China - Yunnan Baiyao (pain relief spray)

Yunnan Baiyao - pain relief spray from China

Great Gifts - Buy it as a gift for your loved ones or friends or old peoples

about Singapore $6 in China and is considered quite expensive but VERY EFFECTIVE.   I will always carry one whenever i travel or have one bottle in office and home.   Buy (about S$6 or RMB30) only from reputable pharmancy in China as there is fake product..

Customer said:i want to let you know that introducing me to Yunnan Baiyao is the best thing that has happened to me for a long time ! It is quite remarkable to say the least. Firstly, to help leg cramps which I get, instant relief, really unbelievable.
I have used it on a child with a sports injury being a sprained ankle, as well as the relief it has given my arthritic joints. I have highly recommended it to many, in fact our youngest daughter( a switched on lass says that she will rep. it for you gladly anytime !!!
Am wondering if Yunnan Baiyao is on the retail market here at all as I know others who would like to purchase it ? I myself am a trained Sister and tend to be a little sceptical re a follow up on all the adverts one sees daily on the media, however I want to say, thank you very much for the sample and I now keep a aersol in my handbag at all times !!!!! It was very interesting reading the brochure of your magic muti. Thank you so much - Robert Schinard.

Yunnan Baiyao activates blood circulation, relieving pain, eliminating swelling and blood stasis. It is used for the treatment of traumatic injury such as bruises, contusions, parenchyma contusion, muscular ache and pain due to rheumatic arthritis.

The neutral temperature allows this product to be used on acute injuries even when there is swelling. It breaks up accumulations of stagnant blood and fluids and is easier to apply than the powder form.

Depend on which package you purchase, some with one bottle and some with 2 bottles - i recommend the 2 bottles packages (red bottle and cream color bottle spray)

Yunnan Baiyao Aerosol Baoxianye (red coloured can)
For use in cases of serious trauma, e.g. severe sprains, muscular strain, bruising, etc. spray immediately on affected area. Should relief not be felt within two or three minutes, re-apply. Do not use on open wounds or cuts.

Yunnan Baiyao Aerosol Spray (cream coloured can - same as Yunnan Baiyao Aerosol)
Should relief not be complete after applying Yunnan Baiyao Aerosol Baoxianye, regular four hourly treatments with this aerosol will complete the process. Additionally, this spray has proven extremely effective in the treatment of arthritis, muscular aches and pains (Including back ache) and stiffness of limbs. Simply apply at four hourly intervals until complete relief is felt.
For open cuts and wounds, spray with Yunnan Baiyao Aerosol, and cover with plaster or bandage. Yunnan Baiyao acts as an antiseptic, whilst creating a healing film on the wound to speed up recovery. It also invigorates blood circulation to further promote the healing process.

How to use:
Shake the bottle several times before spray. Hold the bottle vertically with the spray nozzle 5 to 10 cm to the affected skin, spray not more than 5 seconds lest causing cold injury.

Red Can (Impact Spray):
Use first at time of injury, spray the affected area. For acute pain, spray again, after 5 - 15 mins.

Cream Can (Maintenance Spray):
For continued relief use as a maintenance spray after using the red can OR on its own, for general aches and pain. May also be used on open wounds to stop bleeding and promote rapid healing.
The main difference is that the active ingredients Baoxianye is more concentrated in the red can and should not be used on open wounds, cuts and grazes.

Malacca's Jonker Street Night Market (Friday to Sunday only)

the night market is open from Friday to Sunday, the street would be closed to motor vehicles. Please be careful with your belongings as my friend's sister was a victim of a pickpocket syndicate from Vietnam.
