Before you travel to Thailand, it is a smart idea to learn some basic Thai words and phrases. (Even if you are not going to Thailand any time soon, wouldn't it be cool to know how to say a few phrases in a foreign language?) Most people in Thailand don't speak much English, except in Bangkok and some big cities. By knowing how to say some simple Thai phrases, you can make friends with the local people, make your trip easier without having to depend on an interpreter and perhaps help yourself bargain for stuff more successfully.

Hello = Sawaddee

How are you? = Sabai dee mai

I'm fine. = Sabai dee

I'm not feeling well. = Chan mai sabai

Thank you = Kob kun ("u" in "kun" is pronounced "oo" as in "foot")

Never mind./You're welcome. = Mai pen rai

My name is.... = Chan cheu...

What's your name? = Kun cheu arai

Nice to meet you. = Yin dee tee dai rue juk

Yes = Chai

No = Mai chai

If you want to sound extra polite, you can do so by adding a modifier at the end of each phrase or sentence. If you are a man, say "krub". And if you are a woman, say "Ka". For example, to say hello in a very polite way, a male speaker can say "Sawaddee krub" and a female speaker can say "Sawaddee ka".

Travel Tips and Travel Indurance

Travel Tips - Make your holiday fun and memorable. FORGET about WORK !!!, focus on your travel, you supposed to have fun and relax.

Pack in advance NO NO last minute, open your travel/luggage bag 2 weeks in advance and start putting things in the bag - Best if you have a travel checklist

Plan your trip on daily basis with a checklist on where to visit and what to do, Check internet for info, especially those on free and easy travel

Bring EXTRA sd cards for your camera. it can be expensive or fake sd card when purchase in overseas.

1. Clothing - Travel light and do not pack EVERYTHING you don't need (as a guide 2-3 sets of clothing). If you need something, you'll be able to buy it on the road.

You will be buying things back and airlines excess luggage overweight is very EXPENSIVE.

Check your airlines, some airlines only allow one check-in luggage with max 20-25kg.

Carry your valuables and essential in your hand-carry bag to the plane - DO NOT put in your check-in luggage.

2. Have warm clothing (jacket or sweater) on the airplane or tour bus as it is very cold and you may get sick.

3. Avoid jetlag and air sickness by drinking plenty of water and no alcohol intake; sticking with a bland diet; try to get some sleep on the airplanes.

4. NO expensive jewellery or items. It is best to leave your jewellery at home - the richer you look, the more of a target you'll become for pick-pocketers. You also might want to dress similar and blend in with the locals.

do not create unnecessary stress for yourself trying to worry where is your expensive items and etc

5. Currency and Credit Card
Carry the correct forms of currency and exchange just enough money to cover your expenses. There's nothing worse than being stuck in a new country on your first day with no local currency.

DO NOT carry too many credits card (maximum 2) also take note of your credit cards detail and credit card lost contact telephone.

Remember to inform or activate your credit cards for overseas use.

6. Proper clothing for visiting temples and etc. Respect the culture of local customs. Some countries, especially in the Middle East and Asia, dress more conservatively than many Western Countries. You shouldn't wear shorts or sleveless tops in these places, so ensure you have some other forms of clothing packed in your bag.

7. Be educated about where you are going and always read up on the city before you get there. It pays to know a little about the basics such as transportation, weather and an orientation of the city.

8. Plenty of mineral water, multi-vitamins and some travel medicine.
drink plenty of water to avoid get sick or dehyrate and take multi-vitamin. buy extra mineral water from the supermarkets.

9. Moisturer - Great to keep your skins in tip top conditions and a MUST HAVE during winter to prevent skin itchy.

10. Hat and extra travel foldable bag - to protect against the sun or cold. Extra foldable bag great for shopping (most supermarket charge for plastic bags or hands-carry to plane.

11. Shoes - comfortable shoes for men and ladies. "flat shoes" is prefer. never wear NEW SHOES

my advice especially ladies avoid carrying handbag or expensive handbag or your tablet/ipad, this attract theft attention. Maybe a small simple handbag to store your impt items.

Pack liquid in air-tight bag or keep in your check-in luggage.

Travelling should not be overwhelming or dangerous. In fact it should be one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences in your life.

DIABETES natural treatment

DIABETES natural treatment

another name for Lady Finger (Bhindi ) is " OKURA ".

Last month in one of TV program I learnt of a treatment of Sugar (Diabetes).

Since I am diabetic, I tried it and it was very useful and my Sugar is in control now. In fact I have already reduced my medicine.

HOW TO PREPARE lady finger water for drinking

Take two pieces of Lady Finger (Bhindi) and remove/cut both ends of each piece.

Also put a small cut in the middle and put these two pieces in glass of water.

Cover the glass and keep it at room temperature at night.

Early morning, before breakfast drink the lady finger water.

Keep doing it on daily basis.
Within two weeks, you will see remarkable results in reduction of your SUGAR.

My friend has got rid of her diabetes. She was on Insulin for a few years, but after taking the lady fingers every morning for a few months, she has stopped Insulin but continues to take the lady fingers every day.

You have to keep taking it for a few months before U see results.

Shanghai Famous Restaurant

Shanghai Famous Cuisine Restaurants - MUST TRY

more info visit www.tripadvisor.com

Nanxiang Steamed Stuffed Bun - Giant Xiao Long Bao

jumbo xiao long bao, filled with tasty soup that requires straw to sip in....a must try at nanxiang, yu Garden, Shanghai...

This is a must for all Shanghai travelers - the legendary Nanxiang mantou dian produces the best xiaolong bao (Bun) in the country - one should not miss this very good taste xiaolong bao - always being imitated but never duplicated.

85 Yu Yuan Road, Shanghai, China (Yu Garden.

Nanxiangzhen has many restaurants selling mantou, but this Nanxiang Mantou Dian in Yu Yuan Bazzar is most famous because of its xiaolongbao(steam dumpling). There are three stories in the same building, the lowest with long queue is for take away and also cheaper compare to 2nd and 3rh floor. I visited twice last week at the 2nd floor before 10 am...

Jian'guo 328 Xiaoguan - Shanghai Foods
No.328 Jian Guo West Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai 200031, China (Dapuqiao)

This is the best Shanghai Cuisine that I have ever tasted in Shanghai! I just love the charming environment. They served dishes 100% MSG free!

The portion of the dishes are just good enough for a perfect meal. Not forgetting their ice tea it's the best in town! Very reasonable priced! Do make reservations/plans before arriving... the queue can be 2 hours long!

Shanghai Lost Heaven Restaurant
- Yunnan Foods

38 Gaoyou Rd (south of West Fuxing Rd), Shanghai, China (Hengshan Road)

Lost Heaven on the Bund
No.17a Yanan East Road Huangpu District, Shanghai, China (The Bund)
Tel: 021-63300967

Last time I had visited the Lost Heaven on the Bund when I was in Shanghai.

Two years later, I am revisiting Shanghai again and this time, I deliberately go to visit the one in French Concession area.

Similar to the one on the Bund, the interior design of Lost Heaven is full of folklore-inspired.

Drinks and foods here are not very expensive, which is one of the reasons keep attracting people visiting. Cuisine is stylish, contemporary and delicious. Yet at reasonable price.

Lost Heaven is still on my top list to visit when visiting Shanghai

Yang's Fried-Dumpling (Wujiang Road)
No.54 -60 Wujiang Road, Jing'an District, Shanghai, China (Nanjing West Road)

The small restaurant is located on the second floor in a mall on Wujiang road. Wujian road is just off Nanjing West road very close to the main train station there. You can either sit and eat at the restaurant, if you are lucky to get a table, or take away.

The fried dumplings are tasty and cheap. Note that these are Shanghai fried dumplings, not steamed xialongbao like the ones served for example at Din Tai Fung. Xiaolongbao means 'small steaming basket buns' while the ones served in this restaurant are mostly fried in a large type of frying pan and they are definitely bigger and meatier than xialongbao.

Definitely one of the best dumpling kinds which I've only found in Shanghai so far... These are kind of "crispy" with soup inside, a real experience in Shanghai and at very cheap price.

Shanghai Dragon Phoenix Restaurants
8F, Fairmont Peace Hotel, 20 Nanjing Road East, Shanghai 200002, China (The Bund) Tel: 021-61386880

“An amazing taste of Shanghai food”
Reviewed May 20, 2013 Located in a exclusive venue, the restaurant has en amazing scenery. The view on the river is great and we were happy to be seated on a table next to the river. Everything is up to an extremely good standard, We didn't have to wait long for the food to be ready and it was really delicious. The experience was good.

Shanghai Laolao Restaurants
No.70 Fuzhou Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai, China (The Bund) Tel: 021-63216613

Shanghai Laolao serves amazing Shaghainese food. It isn't dirty, the food comes out super quick. We had to wait about 20 minutes to actually sit down but definitely worth the wait. It is located about a block in from the bund, making it very easy to get to. The business of the place with locals is testament to how the food tasted! The menu is extensive enough that you wouldn't find something you can't eat, and it isn't by any means expensive at all.
